GroomU interviews Thom Watson…
Name, age, name of blog and where your from/based?
Thom Watson, 23, Manface, Yorkshire, UK.
Tell us about your blog, what do you base your content around/where do you get your inspiration from?
I’m an accredited skincare specialist and created Manface to dispense advice in order to help people fight against their skin concerns and find products that would do the job. I work with some of the world’s biggest brands as well as some of the UK’s smallest start-ups to try and bring a healthy mix of effective prestige skincare; bypassing media and marketing hype as best I can to bring the facts.
What does it mean to you to be recognised as the 2014 ‘best product review blog’ winner?
Manface will be 3 years old this June so it’s fantastic to receive an award based on votes from readers rather than solely from a panel of industry judges. It’s my readers that I write for so hopefully this means I’m doing the right thing!
Where do you hope that your blog will take you in the future?
I’ve been fortunate enough that over the last 18 months, Manface has my full time career. As Manface continues to grow, I’m presented with new and exciting opportunities that I can turn into what I hope are fun and engaging articles. For example over the last 6 months I’ve been able to bring online exclusives for the entire Tom Ford For Men grooming collection; GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD and even a Clinique skincare launch. Its hard work, I don’t sleep and I’m often crabby as a result but in all honesty, it’s worth every minute!
Name the one grooming product that you can’t live without and why?
Sampar Glamour Shot. Its invisible foundation with no colour whatsoever but balanced skin tone, reduces the visibility of pores, brightens the complexion and gives unparalleled mattification. I never have less than three of them in stock just in case!
